Foundry manufacture
KnAAPO's foundry manufacture specializes on manufacture of composite, precise mold founding from high-strength, heat-strengthened aluminum alloys (AK7CH, AK8L, AM 4.5KD), steels (35L, 35HGSL, 0.8X14N9BL) and magnesium alloys (ML-5, ML-10).
The molten parts form of almost all units are parts of an airplane, therefore the requirements to their quality are very rigid - the castings pass x-ray, magnetic and capillary monitoring. Many of them are castings of a higher category of complexity.
KnAAPO's power in manufacture of molten parts is as follows:
- steel foundings in sand molds - 300 t/years;
- cast-iron foundings in sand molds - 300 t/years;
- precise steel founding into fuse models (VNL-3, 35HGSL types) - 130 t/year;
- aluminium sand casting - 200 t/year;
- precise aluminium casting (in a metal mold) - 120 t/year;
- magnesium casting - 40 t/year.
